There is a satanic quality to the French Revolution that distinguishes it from everything we have ever seen or anything we are ever likely to see in the future.
Unfortunately, the good Count could not see into the future to envision the even greater satanic horrors spawned by the Revolution in France.
St. Pius X told Cardinal Lucon, Archbishop of Rheims in 1907:
“The Baptism of Clovis marked the birth of a great nation: the Tribe of Judah of the New Era, which always prospered as long as she was faithful to orthodoxy, as long as she maintained the union of the Priesthood with the government, as long as she proved herself, not in word, but in act, the Eldest Daughter of the Church.”
His predecessor, of pious memory, wrote to St Louis IX, King and Confessor,
"God chooses France in preference to all the nations of the earth for the protection of the Catholic Faith, for this reason France is the Kingdom of God itself.Enemies of France are the enemies of Christ ... The tribe of Judah is the anticipated figure of the Kingdom of France ... The Redeemer has chosen the blessed Kingdom of France as the special executor of his divine wills. A prayer for God's light to always lead France,
Almighty and eternal God, Who established the empire of the Franks to be in the world the instrument of Thy divine will, the sword and the shield of Thy Holy Church, We beg Thee, show always and everywhere by Thy heavenly light, the pleading sons of the Franks, that they may see what must be done to realise Thy reign in this world, and that to accomplish what they have seen, they will be filled with charity, strength and perseverance.

Let us pray for the defeat of the Revolution in its homeland as the beginning of its defeat worldwide, and for the instauration of the Social Reign of the Sacred Heart of Christ the King and of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Queen in France and throughout the world!
