I Made Bread (Again!)

This may be the finest looking loaf of bread I've made in our machine. We've only bought one loaf of store bought bread since our son, John, gave us the machine last October, and that only because I was out of flour.

And, if you have a bread machine, here is the recipe. If you don't, get one! They're amazing! It's super easy, and fresh bread with no kneading! You can usually pick one up for around $5.00 in a thrift shop. People just don't understand how great a bread machine is.

INGREDIENTS

FOR LARGE (1 1/2 TO 2-POUND) MACHINE
1 cup lukewarm water
1/3 cup lukewarm milk
3 tablespoons butter
3 3/4 cups Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast or instant yeast

FOR SMALL (1-POUND) MACHINE
2/3 cup lukewarm water
1/4 cup lukewarm milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
5 teaspoons sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or instant yeast

INSTRUCTIONS
Put all of the ingredients into your machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
Program the machine for basic white bread, and press Start.
When the loaf is done, remove the pan from the machine. After about 5 minutes, gently shake the pan to dislodge the loaf, and turn it out onto a rack to cool.
Store, well-wrapped, on the counter for 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
