Pedro Arrupe is the man who presided over the destruction of the Jesuits. During his Generalship the Society went from being the shock troops of the Pope and valiant defenders of Catholic orthodoxy to being, especially in South America from whence Francis comes. the communist party at prayer, embracing heresy, perversion, and left wing violence. And they want to canonise him!? Well, as much as I hate to admit it, I can't really say I'm surprised. Just as with the canonisations of John Paul II and Paul VI, this is another effort to 'canonise the Council', with all its evil effects.
From Gloria.tv
Cardinal Angelo de Donatis, the vicar of Rome, has approved a request by the Society of Jesus to open a sainthood cause for Father Pedro Arrupe, SJ (1907-1991) who served as Jesuit superior general from 1965 to 1983.
Even Time magazine (January 2008) had to admit that Arrupe’s reign was marked by “progressive challenges to the Church establishment, including clashes with both Paul VI and John Paul II” and by leftist activism from the anti-war movement in the U.S. in the 1960s to the liberation theology.
The Jesuits under Arrupe dissented from Catholic doctrine on issues like the nature of the priesthood, the necessity of the Catholic Church and the acceptance of homosexuality.
During Arrupe's tenure the Jesuits experienced a dramatic decline in numbers and quality.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
