I haven't posted on the Household Canine in some time. He's doing well, but it's a bad time of year for him. Like many dogs, not trained for shooting, he has an intense dislike of loud noises. Not only is it thunderstorm season, but it's fireworks time in SE Nebraska! So, he's been spending a lot of time in the closet between the two ground floor bedrooms. We refer to it as his 'cave'.
Tonight, as various explosives are being detonated all over town, he's been in there pretty much the whole evening. A while ago, tho', as the Cuter and Shorter Half and I were lying in bed, she started making animal noises, teasing me. She did a cow's 'moo', a sheep's 'baa', and then a cat's 'meow'. At the 'meow', Max came bursting out of the closet, looking for that darned cat!
We've decided that she must do a reasonable imitation of the cat that torments him by sauntering down the walk between our house and the one next door. The cat knows that Max is on a lead, and he knows just how far he can get, so he taunts Max every chance he gets. Now Max has to worry about the C&SH as well!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
