Apologies and an Explanation

I apologise for the relative paucity of posts Saturday and today. Wilber, NE, the 'Czech Capital of the US, by Resolution of Congress' is holding it's 57th Annual Czech Days festival. It is the 100th anniversary of the independence of Czechoslovakia this year, which adds to the excitement. His Excellency the Ambassador from the Czech Republic to the US is the Grand Marshal of the parades this year, so even Czechia has taken official notice of our little town.

To give you an idea of how important this is, Wilber has a permanent population of about 1,900 or 2,000. This weekend, we are the third largest city in Nebraska, after Omaha, the largest city and Lincoln, the State Capital.

At any rate, I've been attending events at the festival. I will write a post about it (and one about my opinions on Czechoslovak independence) after things wind down. Regularly scheduled posts will appear.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
