Churchill

I just watched a video from The Great War channel on YouTube about what Winston Churchill did in the Great War. The man causes me to cringe when I think of him. He was responsible for almost 200,000 Imperial troops from the UK, Newfoundland, Australia, New Zealand, and India laying down their lives for their King-Emperor and Country at the Battle Of Gallipoli.

During the 1939-1945 War, he sent an Army officer into Yugoslavia to assess the situation. When the officer returned, he told Churchill that the UK should be supporting General Draža Mihailović, the leader of the Royalist Četnici, because he was a true patriot and both anti-communist and anti-nazi.

Churchill's response? He looked at the officer and asked, 'Major, do you plan on living in Yugoslavia after the war?' The officer, confused answered, 'No, Prime Minister'. Churchill said, 'Neither do I', and continued to support the Red partisans under the future communist dictator Tito.

Oh, and by the way, this was at a point in the war when the US and Stalin were still supporting King Petar and his loyal general Mihailović!

The man was totally without morals or principles which, unfortunately, was exactly the sort of leader Britain needed during the War, but it doesn't change my opinion of him Here is the comment I left on the video:
It's too bad you limit your channel to the 1914-18 War. If not, you could go into depth about Churchill, his total amorality, his overweening pride, his 'it's all about me' attitude, his betrayal of the Yugoslavs, his co-operation with FDR in selling out Poland and the Baltic Republics. The man was an evil bastard, who just happened to be the man Britain needed in the Second World War. It's a shame that this POS has been deified in our history books.
If the amoral son of a bitch had retired at 65 like most men do, he would be remembered for only two things. A) He was a brilliant and brave war correspondent, and B) he was a totally unprincipled politician who had stabbed his colleagues in the back twice by turning traitor to his Party. Even tho' I despise the man (Gallipoli in the Great War, his selling out Eastern Europe in the Second), I suppose I'm glad he didn't retire. Britain quite likely would have lost the Second War if it weren't for him.

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
