Chevalier Charles Coulombe on Joseph de Maistre and the Counter-Revolution

I have decided to post one of the Chevalier's short videos every day. These are actually clips from longer shows called 'Off the Menu' from the Tumblar House YouTube channel (link in the sidebar). I hope that these  will interest my readers enough that they will search out the longer episodes on their own.

I'm beginning with the Chevalier discussing Joseph de Maistre and the Counter-Revolution. Le comte de Maistre was a major influence in my journey to the Catholic Counter-Revolution. His book Du Pape (On the Pope) was actually condemned by Rome as 'inopportune' because it logically proves the infallibility of the Roman Pontiff, not from Catholic sources, but from the writings of heretics and infidels! It was written decades before the First Œcumenical Council of the Vatican and the issuance of the Constitution Pastor Æternus, defining Papal Infallibility.

His work Essay on the Generative Principle of Political Constitutions, is one of the most amazing works of political philosophy I have ever read. I highly recommend my readers to check him out.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
