Chevalier Charles Coulombe on the Eastern Catholic Churches

Since I came into Catholicism out of Eastern Orthodoxy, I am technically an Eastern Rite Catholic. I belong to the little known Serbian Rite. In Serbia, we have the Greek Catholic Apostolic Exarchate of Serbia, and I have been told that there is actually a Serbian Rite Church in New York City, but in the rest of North America, we are subject to Eparchs of other Rites. In the US, we are subject to the Eparchs of the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church (in my case, the Eparch of Parma, Ohio) and in Canada to the Eparchs of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. When I lived in Edmonton, Alberta, I was subject to the Eparch of Edmonton, David Motiuk. Boy, can he sing! I heard him sing the Divine Liturgy once, and I've never forgotten it.

At any rate, here is the Chevalier discussing us and the situation we (and the Orthodox) are in.

  1. It appears we will always have such divisions in this world.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
