Resolved: That the Pope Francis Regime in the Vatican Is Not Doing Nearly the Work of His Predecessors in Opposing Abortion.

Posted by my friend Jack Seney in the Pro-Life and Anti-Communist League group on Facebook.  I agree, except that I only gave Francis 'the benefit of the doubt' for about three days after his election.

Resolved: That the Pope Francis regime in the Vatican is not doing nearly the work of his predecessors in opposing abortion. Resolved: That the widespread love of pro-abortion libs for Francis is all the evidence we need that something is wrong.
Our local New York Catholic newspaper keeps repeating that Francis has talked against abortion on this or that occasion. It conveniently ignores his friendly approval of the "environmentalist" work of an infamous Italian abortioness, his reduction of abortion to being any old sin that any priest can forgive in passing, and his own proud admission that he doesn't talk much about abortion.
I gave Francis all the respect and benefit of the doubt and defense that I could - until 2015, and his "Amoris Laetitia" encyclical, promotion of Communion to the civilly divorced and remarried without them living as brother and sister, and refusal to answer the official, lawful and uncomplicated dubia of Cardinal Burke and others.
Now I just think that Francis is a troubled pope with no real compass for where he wants to go with the Church, who is doing little against abortion besides occasional statements, and who is seemingly taking the side of Communists in China with his decision to allow them to pick "bishops" for the Church there who may be little more than commie functionaries, a decision which the devout Cardinal Zen of Hong Kong warned him against.
We should pray for Pope Francis, and remember that God has used bad popes and even a series of bad popes in the past to discipline the Church and wake her to a better life than Satan and his scheming could have imagined.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
