The Reaction to TC in Arlington

Good on them! When life (or your Bishop) hands you lemons, make lemonade!

(H/T to Fr Zed) From Juventutum DC's Facebook page:

The new restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass in the Diocese of Arlington took effect this weekend, and perhaps the hardest blow was the termination of the TLM at Holy Trinity parish in Gainesville, one of the largest TLM communities in the entire region. The nearest location offered by the diocese going forward is the gymnasium of the Renaissance Montessori School in Nokesville. What astonishes is what these Catholics have done in response: the gym has been miraculously transformed, and both Masses offered there yesterday (the 8am Mass below, as photographed and shaered by Didi McConnell) were absolutely packed, over 200 attendees apiece, we hear. This is the kind of dedication that those devoted to the traditional Roman liturgy so often bring to bear, and it is our fervent prayer and plea that our shepherds appreciate this reality, and the fruits it brings forth.

Another post says that

  • there were 500 people at 2 Masses
  • there is only an ad orientem altar
  • there is no Communion in the hand, so there are no particles on the floor

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
