Of Housecleaning and Posting

What, you might be asking yourself, do these two things have in common? Well, neither my Cuter & Shorter Half nor I are exactly what might be called fastidious housekeepers. We don't live in filth! We clean up spills, we do the washing up daily. and the laundry is done regularly. Where we fail is in those housecleaning tasks our Mums (R+I+P) did daily or weekly: dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.

We both have a tendency to hoarding, as well, but nothing pathological, understand! We both just have a tendency to lay something down, intending to take care of it later. Later, unfortunately, might be months away. As a result, we have a stack of four or five laptop computers that don't work, and a drawer full of charging cords for them. Equally unfortunately, we have far more than four or five charging cords!

We have two tables in the kitchen. One we eat at. It has a few odds and ends on it that don't really belong there, including a new switch for the ceiling fan light that I need to fix in the next day or two. However, the other is a catchall! It is where papers, mail, recipe books, etc. get left. And the desk in my room is equally cluttered.

So what do our housekeeping habits have to do with posting? Well, next weekend we will be having what passes for our family Christmas get together. Our oldest, in California and her brood will not be here, but we hope all four of the others will show up. This will include three grandchildren, 3, 5, & 10.

So, we need to clean house! And with the Christmas baking in progress, there's even more washing up to do. As a result, there will be less time available for surfing the 'net for items to post and to write. All my regularly scheduled posts will still be done, and I'll post as I'm able. A week from today, things will get back to normal.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
