Protestant Ads

I play a lot of what my Hampshire-born Gran called patience, but which most people in the US call solitaire. I use an ad-supported app on my tablet. Most of the ads don't bother me, but there are two that get my goat.

First is an app for a King James Bible which informs me that God NEEDS me to have a Bible app on my phone and that God NEEDS me to read a Bible verse daily.

NO! God doesn't NEED me to do anything. God WANTS me to 'know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him forever in the next', but he doesn't need me to do anything. He wants me to do whatever is necessary to reach the goal he has set for me. That's it.

The second is an app for a 'Bible crossword' which informs me that by doing the puzzles I will get 'closer to God'. I somehow doubt that doing puzzles, even Bible ones, will bring me closer to God, especially if I could be praying or performing good works (protestants, clutch your pearls! LOL!) instead of doing crosswords!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
