The Eucharist

Lesson Ten in Christ and the Sacraments, with Fr Dominic M. Langevin, OP, MDiv, STL, STB, STD, Assistant Professor of Systematic Theology, Vice President and Dean, Dominican House of Studies.

'For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.' (John 6:56, 57)

From the Lord’s supernatural sustenance, we can keep on our spiritual feet and continue with the hard earthly journey toward heaven. The Eucharist unites us with Christ's sacrificial love and obedience, and enables us to offer the spiritual sacrifice of our physical lives, to take up our crosses daily, and to serve our neighbors daily.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
