I Think We Just Saw The Abomination of Desolation or At Least a Very Realistic Looking Preview

One Catholic's take on the pagan fertility ritual held at the Vatican on Friday last.

When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.

Then they that are in Judea, let them flee to the mountains: And he that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take any thing out of his house: And he that is in the field, let him not go back to take his coat. And woe to them that are with child, and that give suck in those days. But pray that your flight be not in the winter, or on the sabbath.

For there shall be then great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, neither shall be. And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say to you: Lo here is Christ, or there, do not believe him. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. Behold I have told it to you, beforehand. There is a LOT of whitewashing of prophecy related to the Apocalypse, the End Times, Satan and the False Prophet.
Dr. Scott Hahn, a lovely man and a fine scholar, engages in the most laughable kind of whitewashing in the last part of his otherwise excellent book "The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth." To hear Dr. Hahn tell it, most of the Book of Revelation has already been fulfilled, the Church will be in great shape until the end of time and the Apocalypse won't be doom-and-gloom but a happy, feel-good event. We all know that those are the words of a kind man who depends on the institutional Church for an income.
 
How do "biblical scholars" explain Our Lord's warnings, in Matthew 24, that the words of the prophet Daniel regarding the abomination of desolation will LITERALLY come true? They say that it already was fulfilled when the Romans sacked Jerusalem in 70 A.D.
 
But that was not the fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel. You can read the rest of the paragraph by Christ, in full context, above.
In 70 AD where Jews the elect? No, Christians were, because Christians were baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jews and Gentiles were given equal access to salvation.
 
Did the Romans have the power to kill everyone on earth? No, they didn't.
 
Was the destruction of the Temple a greater tribulation than anything that has ever happened before or since? No, it was not. I can name 1,000 more battles that were more devastating to civilians and caused more casualties than the siege of Jerusalem.
Did false Christs appear before 70 AD and show many great signs? There were one or two. None of them demonstrated any real signs or wonders that deceived Christians (the elect).
 
It is fundamentally disrespectful to Christ to call him a liar by saying His words were not literally fulfilled as He said they would be.
 
Now let's look at a different possibility.
 
St. Peter's was the epicenter of God's Church since St. Peter was martyred there in the first century. It has been the Holy place, where the most important prayers, people and decisions have been made in the life of Christians for almost 1700 years. It is the place where the Body and Blood of Christ has been proclaimed to the entire world. Buried in its confines is the man that Christ said would have perpetual successors.
 
Since St. Peter's martyrdom in the place where his basilica currently resides no Vicar of Christ has ever offered prayers to any God but The Most Holy Trinity. The thought that this would happen would be too outrageous to even contemplate.
 
I am not talking about the event on Friday, when indigenous leaders, bishops and Francis sat outside of St. Peter's and set up a tableau of Gaia worship, fertility icons and Pachamama - a demonic, murderous princess of the indigenous that demands sacrifices - and then prayed to it.


I am talking about a few days later *when they brought the tableau and the demonic goddess inside St. Peter* and prayed to it while giving it the adoration that is reserved for God alone in God's own house.
 
These people, these idol worshipers, brought this tableau of Gaia worship with a thoroughly evil pagan god near the bones of St. Peter....and the pope, bishops and laity prayed to it.
 
Worse than that.
 
Some of them ascribed the naked, proud, angry, vengeful demon as being comparable to the Virgin Mary, the one person on earth who is the exact opposite of these things.
 
How angry is God that his own deputies are slandering His own mother in this manner, inside the Holy Place?
 
Perhaps this is the abomination of desolation: the complete betrayal and disgusting comparison of Our Lady with a demon from the pit of hell.
 
Daniel says that "the offering will be taken away" after the abomination, so perhaps this is not it.
 
But it's quite the preview. Christ tells us that when we see this abomination take place to run for the hills.
 
I am not there yet. But if a formal nullification of the priesthood happens at this synod or after - with the introduction of invalid orders or a change to the words of consecration - that means "the offering has been taken away." I will choose to take Christ at His word and prepare for tribulations like we haven't seen from the beginning of time.
