Area of case: Anti-Religion or humanism groups / Media
In a written statement, the Catholic Youth
Association condemned Adam Nergal Darski, the frontman of Polish extreme
metal band 'Behemoth,' for his September 25th post on Facebook
depicting him trampling on a devotional image of the Virgin Mary.
The Facebook post on the musician's personal page and which
received notable attention online, drew mixed responses of approval and
condemnation. In a its statement, the National Council of the Catholic Youth Association (KSM) said:
"We honor Our Lady with respect and reverence; through her, we pray to God. Mary is so important in our lives that we express this even in the emblem of our association," the members of KSM wrote. "Our duty and the need for our hearts is to defend Our Lady and our Mother, and to pray for this insult. We do not approve of the profanation of the image of Our Lady and the desecration of symbols of the Saints."
Patryk Czech, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Council of the KSM, stressed that young believers cannot be indifferent to such an outrageous attack on Mary. "We feel the daily care of Our Lady and her presence in our lives, which is why this expression of contempt for her and believers hurts us so much," he said.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
