Abortion Rights Groups Are Now Saying That Men Get Abortions, Too

The insanity! Will someone please stop the world? I want to get off!

For those of you trying to keep up, in 2019 feminism is now divided into two main factions: Traditional radical feminists like Meagan Murphy and Germaine Greer, who reject the idea that biological men can become women and see the agenda of transgender activists as an attack on the sex-based protections they have fought for over the past several decades, and the new intersectional feminists. Intersectional feminists, like Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the rest of the post-modern woke folks, believe that a man identifying as a woman is, well, literally is a woman.
It has been amusing in a dark, cringey sort of way to watch abortion activists scrabbling to maintain their status as social justice warriors and abandoning the views they loudly promulgated just minutes ago. Joyce Arthur of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, for example, recently posted a photo helpfully explaining that the abortion movement should be incorporating more sensitive terminology when speaking about parents. Arthur, it must be pointed out, would previously fly into a rage whenever a biological male expressed an opinion about abortion—but that was then, and this is now.
The photo posted to ARCC’s Facebook page and taken from the Baltimore Doula Project suggests avoiding terminology such as “pregnant mom, woman, mother, or mama” in favor of “gestational parent, birthing person, or pregnant person.” Father and dad, meanwhile, can be handily replaced with terms like “nongestational parent, nonpregnant parents, or sperm donor.” And of course, “breastfeeding mom” can be replaced with “lactating parent” or “chestfeeding.” Men, you see, can now get pregnant too. Because it’s 2019.
For those of you who may think I am exaggerating, Rewire News just published an article titled “Women are not the only ones who get abortions,” highlighting the “critical truth is that women are not the only people who need abortions: People across the gender spectrum receive abortion care. While their numbers are relatively small—so small that it is difficult to get statistics, for example, on how many men receive abortions each year—they are not insignificant. That they are unintended victims of the war on women does not negate the fact that they, too, are fighting for their lives and autonomy.” The author even noted some “real progress” being made by some abortion organizations, who are referring to “pregnant people” instead of “pregnant women.”
The Left, as one writer noted to be recently, seems to have gone mad. Their delusions are matched only by their utter seriousness in attempting to force their insanities on the rest of us, and not even the abortion pioneers are safe as the old feminists find themselves labeled the enemy by the new feminists. The very cultural ground our society rests on is shifting, and these pathetic squabbles are another unfortunate indicator that we are treading on uncharted territory.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
