The Feast was deliberately placed by Pope Pius on the last Sunday in October to contrast it with 'Reformation' Sunday, celebrated by the prots who deny the Kingship of Christ. It was moved by the deformers to the last Sunday of so-called 'Ordinary Time' to destroy the meaning of the Feast, as I explained at length in my post, The Feast of Christ the King.
The musings and meandering thoughts of a crotchety old man as he observes life in the world and in a small, rural town in South East Nebraska. I hope to help people get to Heaven by sharing prayers, meditations, the lives of the Saints, and news of Church happenings. My Pledge: Nulla dies sine linea ~ Not a day without a line.

Word of the Day: Christ the King
CHRIST THE KING. A feast originally established by Pope Pius XI in 1925, to be celebrated with special solemnity on the last Sunday of October. It is now observed on the last Sunday of the liturgical year. Its object is to worship Christ's Lordship of the Universe, both as God and Man, and it was instituted to meet the crisis of faith in the Savior's authority, exercised by the Church, of which he is the invisible head.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
