Eastern Rite - Blessed Roman Lysko

Bld Roman was a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Priest. He graduated from the Lviv Theological Academy. He married, and was ordained Priest on 28 August 1941 by Bld Andrey (Sheptytsky). He was a Pastor in the Archeparchy of Lviv for the Ukrainians. Bld Roman  was arrested for his faith on 9 September 1949 by the NKVD, and imprisoned on Lontskoho Street, Lviv. Noted for loudly singing Psalms while in prison; his keepers thought he’d lost his mind. He died in prison as a martyr.
