Pope Francis has finally put an end to years of speculation, and declared that homosexual couples cannot be blessed by the Catholic Church, just as unmarried cohabiting heterosexual couples cannot be blessed, either.
This was a "no-brainer" the whole time. But Francis' unfortunate style of "outreach" to homosexuals gave them the idea that the Church would change just to suit them. Then Francis and the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith must have woke up one day and realized what path they were on. So they announced that sin, by the way, is still considered sin in the Catholic Church.
Homosexuals like Elton John (not even a Catholic) and others have promptly cursed the Vatican for this. Let them curse. It is no surprise, as they have been cursing themselves toward spiritual oblivion for a very long time.
Liberals within the Church are cursing the Vatican for this too. Liberal priests, likely often homosexuals themselves, are saying that they will bless "gay" couples and "marry" them anyway. Never mind that the latter had some time ago already been ruled out by the Francis Vatican.
So, let liberal priests do what they will. And let the Vatican and the bishops then do the right thing and defrock and excommunicate them. The Bible actually says in Revelation to let those who are filthy remain filthy, and one way to interpret this is as a declaration of the sinners' freedom to destroy themselves if this is what they want to do. If they decide that they do not, repentance is a simple thing. But Pope Francis has now removed the excuse of "I'm remaining in my sin till the Church changes!" The Church will not change, and sinners must repent if they seek eternal salvation.
There is certainly no reason for this to put an end to all criticism of the Francis Vatican. It is still the same Vatican that apparently invested money in an Elton John pro-sodomy biopic movie, leading to John's hissy fit at the announcement in question. The poor fellow had thought the Vatican was all on his side, after all, and was sure fast enough to accept that investment in his lousy movie.
But this should put an end to that extremist "conservative" criticism of Francis which itself bordered on sin or worse. It should put a stop to those who have run with their extreme "trad" viewpoints beyond Cardinal Burke and other traditional-minded bishops who are the ones who must lead our traditionalist flock.
One wonders what popular "trads" will do now that they cannot really keep "raising questions" about Francis' view of homosexual couples, though of course they will have other things to make a comfortable living out of complaining about daily.
Let the professional extremists keep carping, then, let the filthy remain filthy, and let the Church remain the Church for those times when we all need her to repent and go to Confession in.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
