A Final Shoutout to The Great War YouTube Channel

100 years ago today, the 1914-1918 War, the Great War, the 'War to End All Wars', ended. The Great War YouTube channel is a great resource for learning about it. Since 2014, they have done a week by week recap of the history of the war in videos about ten minutes long. Plus they have done many specials, called 'Out of the Trenches' in which Indy Neidell, the presenter, answers questions sent in by viewers, and 'Who Did What?', where Indy discusses figures later prominent in history, and what they did during the Great War.

There have been specials on such diverse topics as animals in the war, cocaine use, and frontline entertainment. Each combattant country has been featured in a special dealing with conditions prior to the outbreak of war, and all the major neutral powers have been discussed with their reactions to the hostilities. There have been episodes on the development of tactics during the war, by arm of the service, and specials on the most diverse subjects as well.

I didn't discover the channel until late 2015 or early 2016, but once I did, I binged watched all the regular episodes until I was caught up. Since then, the weekly episode has been my 'Thursday treat'. I've also watched every special I could find. I may not yet have seen the all, but I'll keep looking for them!

For those who might be interested, here is a link to the entire collection of videos, The Great War

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
