From The Remnant
We are truly devastated to learn of the passing of the great Bishop Robert C. Morlino at 9:15 in St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin (the Feast of St. John of the Cross). He was 71 years old.
After having survived a cardiac “event” the day before Thanksgiving, His Excellency took a turn for the worse. In your charity, please storm Heaven for the repose of the soul of this good and faithful bishop.
Over the years, Bishop Morlino confirmed several of my children according to the traditional Rite of Confirmation, as his diocese had become something of a port in the storm for many displaced and disillusioned Catholic families. His faith and pastoral solicitude for us--strangers in his diocese--was a great consolation and proof that God had not left our children spiritual orphans.
He was surely one of the most charitable and pastoral bishops my children had ever been graced to know in person. And for that fine priestly example I'll be forever grateful to him and to God.
Below are just a few examples of why:

Bishop Morlino fought the good fight and, for him, the race is now over. But Christ's poor Church, which the good Bishop served so well and for so many years, will surely mourn his passing for a long time to come. May he now intercede on behalf of us all, the flock with whom he stayed and kept careful watch -- even when so many other shepherds had fled for fear of the wolves.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. Requiescat in pacem.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
