Mexico does, indeed, need our prayers. Our Lady of Guadalupe, Bld Miguel Pro, and all ye Martyrs of Mexico, pray for your country!

Pray for Mexico!

Mexico’s highest court, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, denied protecting life from the moment of conception on Sept. 9 in the state of Sinaloa’s Constitution.

That evening, the city of Acapulco, Guerrero in Mexico experienced a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. Mexico City also felt the earthquake, causing its buildings to sway. (The country’s highest court is located in Mexico City, just 240 miles away from Acapulco.)

At least one person died.

One Catholic parish’s livestream caught the earthquake on video during prayer. The chapel violently shakes and the lights black out at the end.

Catholic journalist Sachin Jose posted the video on Twitter.

“After the legalization of abortions in Mexico, while a priest was praying Hail Mary, (blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus) this happened,” Jose tweeted.

Here’s how some people responded:

One user mentioned, “Please note that this happened as he said ‘and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.'”

@Josejesparza, Twitter

This user responded, “In my country, that is recognized as profoundly ‘Guadalupano’–this decision is a pitiful affront to our divine mother.”

Another user said, “Our Lady Of Guadalupe was pregnant with Jesus when she appeared to Juan Diego! She is pro-life. 🙏😇👶”

@faithaknew, Twitter

This user added, “God is not happy with behavior and people need to wake up. He will come again to judge.”

Lord, please have mercy on us! Our Lady of Guadalupe, please pray for and protect the unborn!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
