Truth!

It is mind boggling how many people actually believe that His Holiness Pope Urban woke up one day and thought, 'Hey, I feel violent today. Let's declare a Crusade on those peaceful Muslims. DEUS VULT!'

  1. That is something that I never learned in the public schools that I attended in the 1960s and 1970s. It was only through reading "outside sources" (many of which, unfortunately, are out of pring). I am so greatful that TAN Books and Catholic Treasures (re-)printed some of the works by Hilaire Belloc; otherwise, I'd have been clueless.

    1. I'm a bit older than you, having graduated grade 12 in 1965, but I learned none of this either. However, I think it was because no one was worried about Islam. They had not read Belloc, and after the defeat of the Caliph in the 1914-1918 War, it looked like the threat was gone for good. How wrong they were!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
