Amazon Alexa Doesn't Use Wikipedia

Since I'm old and decrepit and the Cuter and Shorter Half is wintering in California, our children bought me four Amazon Alexa devices and the Alexa Together service which is similar to Life Alert, but $9.99/month instead of $49.95/month. I have one in my bedroom, one in the living room, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom so I can be heard in any room that we normally use.

However, since I haven't had any medical emergencies (Deo gratias!), I use it mostly as a clock and calendar, with the one in my bedroom functioning as my alarm clock, and to check the temperature, windchill, and forecast. The one in the kitchen also gets used as a timer when I'm cooking and to remind me of tasks like taking out the rubbish and recycling. The devices also work as a calculator, music player, and such things, tho' I seldom utilise those functions.

I discovered earlier, tho', that Alexa doesn't use Wikipedia. I asked it when spring began. It answered tomorrow, the 20th of March, but what I wanted to know was at what time the vernal equinox, the astronomical 'beginning of spring', was going to occur. I then asked it that specific question, to which it answered, 'Hum, I don't know that.'

Then, just out of curiosity, I asked when Whitsunday, the English name for Pentecost Sunday, was. Again, I got 'Hum, I don't know that.' When I rephrased the question to 'When is Pentecost' it knew the answer. Of course, I found both on Wikipedia with no problem. LOL!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
