This popped up in my FB Memories last night.
Eight people request proper provision to allow them to kneel for Communion. Six of those are in their late teens or early twenties. Parish votes no.
A day later, a person (not one of the eight) congratulates the Priest on a 'lovely, positive meeting'. The Priest says that some bits were okay. Other bits weren't.
The person, nettled, says 'but we have to protect our future, our young people. They need to be able to express themselves, to find that our faith embraces them.'
The Priest says 'we have, or had, six people in their late teens or early twenties in our congregation. They are the only ones in that age group. Last night you denied them something that would have cost you nothing. Do you think they will be here next Sunday?'
The person says 'But we have to look to the future, not to the past!'
The Priest says 'What is the future? Are you? Am I? Or are they?'
The person says 'But what does Pope Francis say? I know that he agrees with me and not with you. '

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
