Royal Navy Prepares For Largest Deployment in 10 years

They will be projecting major force into the South China Sea, international waters that the ChiComs claim as 'territorial'.

HMS Queen Elizabeth is about to set off on her maiden deployment. She will lead the UK’s Carrier Strike Group which will visit more than a fifth of the world’s nations over the next six months. Claire Sadler was watching the final preparations in Portsmouth.

The Royal Navy’s largest deployment in more than a decade is to begin next week, taking in more than 40 countries and lasting more than six months. 🌏 The Carrier Strike Group, led by HMS Queen Elizabeth, will include American and Dutch ships, and will also carry British and US F-35 fighter jets. ✈️ As James Hirst reports, Asia will be the focus of its travels.
