The musings and meandering thoughts of a crotchety old man as he observes life in the world and in a small, rural town in South East Nebraska. My Pledge-Nulla dies sine linea-Not a day with out a line.

Word of the Day: Obedience
OBEDIENCE. The moral virtue that inclines the will to comply with the
will of another who has the right to command. Material obedience is merely to
carry out the physical action commanded; formal obedience is to perform an action
precisely because it is commanded by a legitimate superior. The extent of obedience
is as wide as the authority of the person who commands. Thus obedience to God
is without limit, whereas obedience to human beings is limited by higher laws
that must not be transgressed, and by the competency or authority of the one
who gives the orders. As a virtue, it is pleasing to God because it means the
sacrifice of one’s will out of love for God. (Etym. Latin obedientia,
obedience.)

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
