Paul VI was Omnishambolic!

One of my favourite YouTube channels is Name Explain. The presenter is a young Englishman who is even more fascinated by words and their etymologies than I am. His newest video deals with 10 new words added to the OED in 1919. These word were not featured, but I discovered them from the link he gave.

It occurred to me that whilst the OED says 'Chiefly in political contexts', they could apply equally to the post-Conciliar Church which definitely fits the definition of an 'omnishambles', and that Paul VI was probably the most omnishambolic Pope in history!

omnishambolic, adj.: Chiefly in political contexts: (of a person) prone to making blunders and miscalculations; (of a situation) utterly disorganized or chaotic…(example to the right)

omnishambles, n.: Chiefly in political contexts: a situation that has been comprehensively mismanaged, or is characterized by a series of blunders and miscalculations…

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
