God save the Queen (Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen, 2 June 1953) Colour

I've shared King George's funeral cortège from Sandringham to London, the Accession Proclamation, and clips of Her Majesty returning to the UK from Kenya after her father's death made her Queen, so it's time for the Coronation.

First, a short clip of Her Majesty entering Westminster Abbey for her Coronation, wearing the Imperial State Crown.

The actual Coronation, the vesting in the cope, the delivery of the Mace and Sceptre, and the Crowning with St Edward's Crown.

For those with the patience, the central part of the BBC’s marathon eight-hour live television broadcast, lasting three hours, of the Coronation on 2 June 1953, beginning with the Queen’s arrival at Westminster Abbey and going through to the end of the service. Narrated by Richard Dimbleby.

And, for those of less patience, a 'condensation' of the day from Her Majesty leaving the Palace, until she and the Royal Family appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to the cheers of her subjects.

Vivat Regina!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
