Two of My Pet Peeves

I am well known as a nitpicker, especially on subjects historical. My Cuter & Shorter Half hates watching historical movies with me because I'm always mentioning errors.

However, there are two things that will cause me to immediately stop reading an article or watching a YouTube video, comment explaining the error, and give it an angry emoji or a thumbs down if possible.

The first is any reference to Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, as 'Queen of England'. There has been no 'Queen of England' since 1 May 1707 when the Acts of Union took effect, changing Her Majesty Anne, by the Grace of God, Queen of England, Scotland, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc. into Her Majesty Anne, by the Grace of God, Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc.

The Style has changed over the three centuries since, due to the Union with Ireland, the independence of Eire, and the evolution of the Commonwealth, but there has not been a 'Queen of England' since 1707.

The other, which caused my normal reaction of stopping watching, commenting, and giving a thumbs down happened on a YouTube video just a while ago. That is a reference, usually in a science or history video, to the United States using the Imperial System of Units.

I commented,
I'm getting quite tired of pointing out that THE UNITED STATES HAS NEVER USED THE IMPERIAL SYSTEM OF UNITS! The Imperial System was introduced in 1825, 42 years after US Independence. They used then, and use now, the US Customary System, based on the Winchester Standards that they inherited from England during the colonial period.
The US had forgotten neither their rebellion against the Crown of Britain nor their defeat in the War of 1812. It would be highly unlikely that they would adopt a system devised by the hated British and called the 'Imperial' System.

Fact check, people, fact check!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
