Off the Menu: Episode 21 - St. Patrick, Rasputin, & LARPing

The Chevalier answers the serious question that Traditional Catholics are just 'LARPers', role playing fantasists. He mentions, among other things, that voting in a modern election is LARPing, that the LARPer is playing a role that he can make any difference.

The discussion of St Patrick is hilarious! Have you heard of the 'United Snakes of America'? If not, you will here! He also discusses the Patron of Ireland seriously, as well.

Despite what many people believe, Rasputin was not a monk! The Chevalier points out that Rasputin was a 'thrill' for the refined high society of Imperial Russia, and became popular as a result. When he was able to stop the Tsarevitch from bleeding to death, he gained massive influence over the Imperial Family.

His explanation of Catholic economic systems is very informative. He discusses Distributism, Solidarism, Guild Socialism, and Corporatism. He points out that they were all saying the same thing.

He also points out that what we have today is not 'capitalism' in the classic sense, but crony capitalism and monopoly capitalism leading to oligarchic rule.

The discussion of blessings and their effect is fascinating, as well. He compares the similarity of Priests, Kings, and Fathers, mentioning the power of Fathers to bless their children. When my children were small, I blessed each of them each night, signing their foreheads with the Sign of the Cross.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
