I was just at the store buying light bulbs. Why? because two of the bulbs in the kitchen fixture are burned out, along with one in the living room, and all three in my bedroom. This is a great example of a case of deliberately planned obsolescence, as is explained in this video. The fact that it doesn't have to be is shown by the existence of the 'Centennial Light', which has been burning, almost continuously, for 120 years! I'd settle for, say, five years.
