Horthy was a forsworn nithing! It is not a 'coup' to try to reclaim what is justly yours.
Former Austro-Hungarian Emperor Karl lived in exile since the armistice of 1918. But he hadn't given up his claim to the crowns of the dual monarchy. And so in 1921 he tried to claim the Hungarian crown not once, but twice.
The crown was his by hereditary right. But times had changed and it was just not realistic to try to reclaim it. It would certainly have meant war. The countries bordering Hungary threatened to invade if the Habsburgs were restored.
