Word of the Day: Asterisk (No, Not the Punctuation Mark!)
ASTERISK. A liturgical utensil in the Greek Rite. It is made of two curved bands of silver or gold, crossing each other to form a double arch; and placed over the blessed bread in the early part of the Mass to prevent contact with the veil.
