Fr. Scott Nolan has come under fire from liberal members at his St. Stephen's Catholic Church in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The parishioners are trying
to stage a coup and get Fr. Nolan removed from the parish because he
upholds Church teaching on Canon 915, which states that persons living
in "obstinately manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to holy
communion."
Judge Sara Smolenski, chief judge of the Kent County District
Court who has been "married" to another women for several years, attends
St. Stephen's.
Although she claims to have received a Catholic education
and upbringing, Smolenski recently complained to a local news
outlet that she had been denied Holy Communion by Fr. Nolan due to her
homosexuality.
Parishioners of St. Stephen's have taken to social media to bolster
Smolenski's message and promote the interview she gave. One parishioner
accused Fr. Nolan of "discriminating" against homosexuals. Another says
that she wishes Fr. Nolan would just go his own way and leave the parish
altogether.
Fr. Nolan is one of the few young, orthodox priests in the
Diocese of Grand Rapids. He is also chaplain to the Catholic Lawyer's
Association in Michigan. He deserves to be supported!
His decision to deny Judge Smolenski Holy Communion should be praised
by all Catholics. As 1 Corinthians 11:29 states: "Anyone who eats and
drinks unworthily drinks judgment on himself." Fr. Nolan is simply
looking out for Judge Smolenski's soul!

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
