Advice for Would-Be Convert to Catholicism

I only know of one non-Catholic reader of this blog and I know I'm posting an 'Off the Menu' every day, but I think this is important enough to post, since I missed it when I was posting excerpts.

The Chevalier has excellent advice for a would-be convert. I heartily concur as I approach the 38th anniversary of my own conversion to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, the only Church founded by Our Blessed Lord, a week from today.

In answer to a request for a reading list for a potential convert, he mentions the bibliography in his first book, Everyman Today Call Rome. By the time I met the Chevalier and read his (at that time) recently published work, I was already a Catholic, but I still read most of the books he listed. I think anyone, whether a would-be convert or a cradle Catholic would benefit a great deal by reading the suggested books.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
