Away from the security of a normal social environment, highway robbery represented just one of many hazards when travelling. In fact, threatening strangers could be the least of a medieval person's worries when they were on the road.
Let’s go back to the Middle Ages and take a look at snow, seasickness, shipwrecks and insomnia, just some of the dangers of medieval travel.
