Happy National Licorice Day!

Today, in the US, is National Licorice Day. I am a huge fan of real liquorice (note the proper spelling), by which I mean black liquorice, not the cherry and strawberry fakes that masquerade as liquorice under the Twizzler brand.

My favourites are probably Pontefract cakes, liquorice allsorts, and any number of salmiak-flavoured (salty) liquorices, from Holland or Scandinavia.

Needless to say, these varieties are impossible to find in a small town like Wilber, but I'm blessed by the fact that just 40 miles up the road, in Lincoln, is a shop that sells nothing but liquorice called  Licorice International. They have every imaginable sort of liquorice from all over the world.

Plus, I'm doubly blessed because they do mail-order! Since I no longer drive, it would be difficult to satisfy my liquorice cravings if I had to depend on visits to Lincoln.

If, like me, you're a black liquorice fan, I suggest you check them out.

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
