Alfie Evans
I don't know how many of my readers are following the story of Alfie Evans, the infant that the British Government is in the process of murdering. He has been made an Italian citizen, Pope Francis and Bambino Gesu Hospital have offered him free treatment, and the Government of Italy has warned Britain that they will bring charges for murder against those responsible in the European Courts if he dies, but a British Judge has just refused to let him be transferred to Italy.
Update April 24, 4:20 PM:This story has been updated to include Alder Hey hospital's statement that it is going ahead with Alfie's "end of life care plan."
LIVERPOOL, April 24, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – UK toddler Alfie Evans is being starved to death by the hospital looking after him, the boy’s father Tom confirmed.
The 23-month-old is now approaching 24 hours since being removed from his ventilator. Tom says his son is still fighting, but he needs food.
"Coming up to 24 hours and he’s fighting with gorgeous his gorgeous features, pink lips, handsome grown up face, and odd cheeky smile now and again," Tom wrote on a Facebook post moments ago.
"He has now been starved from nutrition for 23 hours. How is this humane, where does his dignity lie," he added.
Doctors removed Alfie’s ventilator just after 9:00 yesterday evening. Instead of dying, the baby started to breathe on his own. He was eventually given oxygen as well as hydration.
Parents Tom and Kate would like to take their son to a hospital in Italy, but the hospital has refused to comply with their wishes.
A UK judge ruled this afternoon that Alfie may not fly to a hospital in Rome for treatment.
Alder Hey Children's hospital says that after today's ruling, it will continue Alfie's "end of life care plan."
"This evening the High Court again ruled that it is in Alfie's best interest to continue with the end of life care plan developed by the clinical team who have cared for him throughout," the hospital stated in a press release.
"Our top priority therefore remains in ensuring Alfie receive the care he deserves to ensure his comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained throughout," it added.
Throughout the entire legal saga, courts have sided with Alder Hey hospital doctors, saying that they are acting in the toddler’s “best interest.”
It remains unclear how many days Alfie may be expected to live. So far, he has defied expectations of the medical profession.
