Many people believe Elon Musk's ambition is the ultimate force for
human progress. But his precise trajectory maps perfectly onto St.
Thomas Aquinas's diagnosis of the ultimate spiritual disease. From
controlling energy through Tesla, to escaping Earth through SpaceX,
to controlling the global narrative with Twitter, to redesigning
the human soul itself with Neuralink. It is an escalating desire
for total control.
The Hebrew word gaavah means pride or haughtiness. In Genesis 11,
the builders of Babel gathered and said they wanted to build a tower
with its top in the heavens to make a name for themselves. The
Catechism paragraph 392 teaches that the fall of the angels
consisted in wanting to be like God, but without God. Aquinas saw
this coming in the 13th century. The tower just got a reusable
first stage.

Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
