The Great Humanitarian
Ven. Sheen’s chilling prediction:
“He will come disguised as the great humanitarian. He will talk peace, prosperity, and plenty, not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves.”
Sound familiar? Scheel says when comfort becomes our highest good, we stop asking where comfort leads. If success or the next shiny gadget is your “heaven,” the real Heaven starts to look unnecessary. Charity should always point toward our Father, who alone satisfies the longings of our hearts.
Tolerance Turned Toxic
Ven. Sheen warned that morality would be blurred until nothing seems definitive: “he will identify tolerance with indifference to right and wrong.”
Scheel says our culture celebrates “you do you,” but love without truth isn’t true love. It’s indifference wearing a smile. Christian tolerance never shrugs at sin. It invites conversion, because souls are worth the discomfort of honest dialogue.
The fear of being labeled “intolerant” shouldn’t keep us from speaking the truth of the Gospel.
Religion Against Religion
Ven. Sheen says the Antichrist will finally use faith‑language itself to hollow out the Faith: “he will invoke religion to destroy religion.”
From feel-good spirituality to prosperity gospel, counterfeit Christianity is everywhere. It offers “enlargement of purpose” without the Cross, a community without conversion. The remedy is simple, but demanding: measure every message against Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and Church teaching. If it contradicts Christ, drop it.
