From The Mad Monarchist (15 April 2012)
The musings and meandering thoughts of a crotchety old man as he observes life in the world and in a small, rural town in South East Nebraska. My Pledge-Nulla dies sine linea-Not a day with out a line.

MM Video: Alfonso XIII of Spain
Alfonso XIII was the last King of Spain before the horrific era of the second republic. His father having already died Alfonso XIII was King as soon as he was born in 1886. His mother served as regent when he was young. Spain lost most of her overseas territories to a war with America early in his reign and the First World War, the flue epidemic and government mismanagement all led to increasing economic problems and political instability. In 1906 he married Princess Victoria-Eugenie of Battenberg by whom he had seven children. In 1931 he was forced to go into exile by the republicans but he refused to abdicate. Only in 1941 did he hand over his rights to his son Prince Juan while in exile in Rome. He died only a few weeks later. He was the grandfather of King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
