Corpus Christi Procession (1941)

Cork, Ireland, escorted by the Irish Army. Absolutely beautiful!

Religious and military representatives take part, Captain James Smith is in charge of the military escort, and Group leader O'Keefe is in charge of the local Defence force. The Very Reverend J. Canon Scannel, D.S.O. is present, he was the first chaplain appointed by the Air-Army. Boys scatter rose petals in front of the procession as it makes its way to the church. M/S of old church, 85 year old Mrs Amani waits to take the benediction. Various shots of the ceremony, the military salute. M/S as soldiers march through. Children stand around a grotto, various shots of them. L/S of the parade.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
