This was written by a friend of mine who is a veteran of Her Majesty's UK Forces.
Today on the 39th anniversary I think of and remember ALL the members of our Armed Forces who headed to the South Atlantic to free the people of the Falkland Islands from the Argentinean invasion.
On today's date 2nd of April 1982 the Argentinians invaded the Falkland Islands and on the 5th of April 1982 a large British Task Force set sail to engage the Argentinians and free the Falklanders......
255 British Armed Forces personnel made the ultimate sacrifice and 775 were wounded.
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.
When you go home tell them of us and say "for your tomorrow, we gave our today."
GBNF
LEST WE FORGET.
