Pope Leo’s Encyclical on AI: What Catholics Can Do in Response to the Call

From EWTN News

Pope Leo XIV’s encyclical, Magnificent Humanity, released on May 25, is drawing attention for its focus on artificial intelligence. At the document’s release, the Pope said the encyclical was the result of listening to scientists, educators, and political leaders. In it, he calls for the “disarmament” of artificial intelligence in order to build a more just future. Matthew Bunson, vice president and editorial director of EWTN News, joins to discuss how the Church can influence how AI is used and managed, what Catholics can do in response to Pope Leo’s call, and whether other tech companies will engage with the Pope’s encyclical in a meaningful way.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
