A Heavenly Voice Said Yes. The Vatican Said No. Here's Why.

From Totus Catholica

After more than 40 years, the Vatican has still not declared Medjugorje supernatural. Most Catholics assume it has been condemned or approved. The truth is more biblical than either side suspects. Deuteronomy 18;21-22 gives the test: if a prophet's word does not come to pass, it is not from the Lord. Even miracles alone do not validate a message. The Talmud in Baba Metzia 59b says even a heavenly voice does not override established teaching authority. Pope Francis in September 2024, issued the note called the Queen of Peace. Devotion at Medjugorje was approved. The apparitions themselves were not. Mary's last recorded words in scripture are in John 2:5: Do whatever he tells you. A real apparition of Mary will point to her son, bend the knee, and never contradict the church he founded on Peter. Doubting Medjugorje is not a slap in Mary's face. Submitting to the church her son founded is the most Marian thing you can do. Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Leo XIV as the Vicar of Christ, the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
