UK Train Stabbing Leaves Eleven Injured

A great example of how Starmer's Labour Government is failing the people of Britain. If you can't be safe on your daily commute, where can you be?

Two people are still fighting for their lives after two men in their 30s attacked people at random on an evening train Saturday night.

Ten people were taken to hospital on Saturday evening after a knife attack on a scheduled train near Cambridge in eastern England. Two were still fighting for their lives on Sunday morning.

The train, which was originally travelling from Doncaster to London’s King’s Cross station, was still delayed at Huntingdon train station. On Saturday, between 6 and 7 p.m. local time, two men stabbed 11 passengers on the train. More than 30 police officers were dispatched to the scene. The British Transport Police released further details about the incident on Sunday.

According to eyewitnesses, the knife attack, which lasted about 10-15 minutes, was carried out by a 32-year-old British man and a 35-year-old British citizen of Caribbean origin, both born in the UK, the BBC reported after a police press conference on Sunday morning. There is no indication at this time that the perpetrators carried out a terrorist attack, and Superintendent John Loveless of the Huntingdon police said it is “not appropriate” to speculate about the motives behind the stabbings.

After the attack, ten passengers were taken to the hospital, and another passenger later sought medical treatment independently. Four of the nine people with initial life-threatening conditions have now been discharged from the hospital, but two remain in critical condition.

Passengers on the train reported horrific scenes. One of them first heard someone shouting that a man was stabbing everyone with a knife, but at first thought it was just a Halloween prank. Within minutes, many people were running through the train, and then he saw an older man prevent one of the attackers from stabbing a young girl. The man was injured in the head and neck, and the other passengers tried to stop the bleeding with their coats.

The Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander extended her thoughts to those impacted and said train passengers said passengers would see “a high visibility presence” of police at railway stations and on trains on Sunday “to reassure the public”.
