The Horrific Execution of Robert François Damiens – Attempted To Murder Louis XV
The HORRIFIC execution of Robert François Damiens: Robert François Damiens was born on 9 January 1715 in La Thieuloye, near Arras and was executed on 28 March 1757 in Paris for having attempted to assassinate King Louis XV. He was the last person in France to be quartered, a punishment reserved for those committing regicide under the Ancien Régime.
