How To Pray the Regina Cæli Prayer

Beginning on Easter through the Octave of Pentecost, instead of the Angelus, the Church asks us to pray the Regina Cæli. Here's how.

From Aleteia

By Philip Kosloski

Here are the words to the Regina Cæli prayer used during the Easter season in place of the Angelus.

While many are familiar with the Angelus prayer, few realize that this prayer can be replaced during the Easter season with the Regina Cæli prayer.

Similarly, it is prayed at 6:00 a.m., noon, and 6:00 p.m.

Here are the words of the Regina Cæli prayer, said during the Easter season.

V/. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R/. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.

V/. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R/. Pray for us to God, alleluia.

V/. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R/. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.

Let us pray. O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Comments are subject to deletion if they are not germane. I have no problem with a bit of colourful language, but blasphemy or depraved profanity will not be allowed. Attacks on the Catholic Faith will not be tolerated. Comments will be deleted that are republican (Yanks! Note the lower case 'r'!), attacks on the legitimacy of Pope Francis as the Vicar of Christ (I know he's a material heretic and a Protector of Perverts, and I definitely want him gone yesterday! However, he is Pope, and I pray for him every day.), the legitimacy of the House of Windsor or of the claims of the Elder Line of the House of France, or attacks on the legitimacy of any of the currently ruling Houses of Europe.
