On This Day: 14 January 1236 Marriage of Henry III & Eleanor of Provence
Henry III is a much-overlooked King of England, ruling for 56 years between the troubles of John's reign and the expansionism of Edward I's. On this day in 1236, he married Eleanor of Provence, who would be his wife for almost 40 years.
